breast-to-bone-research-programThe B2B research program aims to establish a cohort infrastructure, a program of multidisciplinary research, and a “centre of excellence” in the study of breast cancer metastases to the bone. The program’s primary objective is to establish an infrastructure to facilitate multidisciplinary research in breast cancer metastases to bone. Secondary objectives are to investigate the impact of vitamin D and markers of inflammation in breast cancer metastases; the predictive utility of a candidate transcriptional signature in primary breast tumours; the detection of metabolomic profiles indicative of bone metastases or metastatic potential; and the contribution of breast cancer stem cells to metastatic bone disease.

Co-Principal Investigators: Dr. Brockton and Dr. Friedenreich
